Curriculum Vitae

  • April 1997 to February 2001: IT Manager at the Offertenzeitung "SUCH&FIND"

My responsibilities included, in addition to administrative tasks, setting up and maintaining the company's website, server systems, printers, networks, graphic design, programming, and database management.

  • March 2001 to December 2002: Freelance IT Consultant

During this time, I also became certified as a network administrator at Hansen in Koblenz.

  • August 2002 to July 2007: Programmer for a NIC at hjs.net

The NIC was used to register Romanian subdomains and was based on classic web development (LAMP).

  • August 2007 to November 2014: Freelance IT Trainer

During this period, I primarily trained students for GFN AG in the fields of CompTIA, JAVA, LPIC, web development and web design, as well as IT specialists in application development and system integration.

Additionally, during this time, I built and managed the project "Office on the road," which enabled the institution to set up a hardware set (laptops, server, printer) for 15 students in an hour, package it in three boxes, and ship it. This allowed trainers to hold Microsoft and Office courses on-site at customer locations throughout Germany. The system was based on Linux but deployed Microsoft environments on the laptops.

  • December 2014 to February 2019: Consultant at S&L Netzwerktechnik GmbH

During my time at S&L Netzwerktechnik, I built and maintained monitoring systems for the following companies, based on Centreon:

Scania Deutschland, Griesson-DeBeukelaer, the Federal Criminal Police Office Wiesbaden, Adient (Johnson Controls), Saarbrücken Airport, Meffert AG, Rofu Kinderland, IBS AG (Siemens Industry Software), Rhein-Mosel-Fachklinik (RMF), Schoeller Werke in Düren, HSH-Nordbank, and more...

Whenever interfaces for monitoring were missing, I developed them. This involved not only various coupling hardware but also scripting and programming languages such as Bash, Python, C, Perl, PHP, etc. The infrastructure was queried either via NSClient, SSH, or directly through various protocols.

Additionally, I managed and maintained network components (UTM, PFSense, etc.) and Linux servers (Apache, Postfix, etc.) for various companies.

  • Since March 2019: Owner of Programmierschmiede

During my time at Programmierschmiede, I developed software as an external contractor for one of Germany's largest state agencies. This software enabled team-wide analysis and further processing of errors in the collection of substantial data volumes, based on the Elastic Stack and classic web development (LAMP). The software is successfully operated by a team of 13 and has replaced the HP Operations Manager five years ago, saving my client hundreds of thousands of euros in licensing fees. However, due to privacy concerns, I cannot provide more details here. Additionally, I have provided network management services for various companies and helped modernize outdated software, as well as developed various interfaces to connect native software.

  • Looking Forward:

I am currently developing software that will allow traditional monitoring systems to access advanced features typically found only in expensive products like Splunk. With this software, a customer can continue using their Nagios-based monitoring system while becoming SIEM-compliant. The software is 50% complete and has passed initial functionality tests. I am still seeking early adopters.

In any case, if you want to monitor something—whether it's the water level in your coffee machine, the temperature of your gas grill, the power consumption of your PlayStation, or simply the state of your server systems—I consider myself qualified. I am also available for web or interface programming. I love monitoring and optimizing processes.

I am also an examiner for IT specialists in application development and system integration at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and am qualified to train in these professions (AEVO certification).
